Apple iOS 6 already jailbroken -----

Posted on Jun 13 2012 08:12 AM by xper  in Mobile | Viewed 3175 Times

Apple’s iOS 6 was released to the developer group less than 24 hours ago, and it’s apparently already been jailbroken, according to a TechCrunch report. MuscleNerd from the iPhone Dev Team announced via Twitter that he had successfully jailbroken a 4th generation iPod Touch running iOS 6, but noted that several parts including the third-party Cydia application store were broken, and advised folks to not expect a full beta release of the jailbreak anytime soon.

While you won’t be able to jailbreak an iOS 6 device just yet, this news bodes well for the Apple modding community. Developers are already hard at work attempting to fix things that are broken and to turn the system into an untethered jailbreak, so you won’t need to connect to a PC every time you run out of juice. The team was able to provide an untethered, jailbroken version of iOS 5 just one day after it was made public, and we expect the same levels of success with iOS 6.

iOS 6 is expected to be made available with the release of the new iPhone in September or October of this year. That gives MuscleNerd and the rest of the development team a little over three months to work out a jailbreak for the final release.
