Windows 8 releasing in October, Microsoft hosting April event? -----

Anonymous sources aware of Microsoft's release schedule state that developers will finish programming Windows 8 this summer, and that the operating system should launch in October this year.
Also backed up by Lenovo officials who trust their future tablets will arrive in the same month, October could be just in time for the Holiday season; Microsoft should have plenty of time delivering the software worldwide until the shopping spree begins.

"If they miss the September-October time frame, they're going to be stuck without being able to ship anything in 2012," says Michael Gartenberg, a Stamford analyst. This time-frame also looks appealing for tablet manufacturers like Dell, Lenovo, HP, Acer, Asus and anyone else willing to invest in a Windows 8 tablet that could sell crazy just before the Holidays.

Initially, the operating system will deploy to Intel and ARM based devices, Microsoft promising to support both standards. While the second category will be covered by lesser numbers, thousands of Intel owners will be able to install the OS right away.

The other interesting part of the rumour is related to a Microsoft event, set to take place in April this year. At this conference the Redmond-based software maker would announce interesting details about the upcoming OS, like a solid release date, price and versions.
Windows 8 is still in a Consumer Preview form (to be read as beta) which was launched only a couple of weeks ago.

Well they can release any time they want, I am not buying it right away. I am waiting for at least 6 months if not longer or till all bugs are worked out. Too darn many OS being released and I am getting tired of the expense of it all. I have evern considered getting rid of the computer completely.
