Although I consider them a nusiance too, how do you think some of the issues compiled for the sp1 comes? It don't come by carrier pidgeon.
Update works fine, if you believe that M$ will come back to haunt those with "unofficial copies of XP" I know a bridge in brooklyn for sale too.
Hey, I turned it off too but don't believe the hype....:cool:

Actually, I get rid of that by going to Control Panel> Administrative Tools> Services and select "Disabled" for the Error Reporting Service. (or similar)

I have heard that Microsoft gets 60 gigabytes of error reports a day.

Also, I have dissabled error reporting but every time a program crashes I still get the box popping up. rolleyes.gif

Save the lines listed below to a file called "ERROROFF.REG" or whatever you want it called and double click on it when reinstalling XP and it'll do the work for you.

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

;Disables Error Reporting, but notifies when errors occur
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\PCHealth\ErrorReporting]
"DoReport"=dword:00000000
