I originally got this idea off some random site I found. I first posted it on Neowin and since then the thread has died. Now I'm turning to MSFN to improve the list! I will be updating the list as you guys post suggestions
The syntax I'm following is: CODE [*]name [Under 1MB] [Single EXE] - Application Description Sites dedicated to such software include: http://tinyapps.org/ - http://www.nirsoft.net/ - http://www.sysinternals.com/ The application must be freeware and under a 2MB uncompressed download.

Thanks for the cool list! Does portability play a factor here?

instsrv.exe - 18KB
srvany.exe - 15KB Tools to help you run (almost) any program as a service. I've found other download sites, but figured I'd host them myself. |

Umm... I've always just known them by instsrv and srvany.
Instsrv will add the necessary information to the system (mostly just the registry) to add a service. Srvany will make any program run as a service. For example, How to setup Hamachi to run as a service with Srvany Edit - To add to the list: Nullsoft Scriptable Install System. Very simple install system that adds very little overhead to the files being installed. |

Thanks for the cool list! Does portability play a factor here? You know, now that I've had some more time to think about it, I think I can easily add [Portable] as another tag, but the program still has to be under 2mb. Post any program that you know is portable! Umm... I've always just known them by instsrv and srvany. Instsrv will add the necessary information to the system (mostly just the registry) to add a service. Srvany will make any program run as a service. For example, How to setup Hamachi to run as a service with Srvany Right on, added! |
