Hi community.

We, in a computer-graphics and video company are
updating our infrastructure and have bought new workstations
with windows xp x64.

The Problem is, some of the applications we need are not native
to the 64bit world and we need to use some very specific
codecs in both these and native 64bit applications.

The codecs are huffyuv, lagarith (we got both running in all
apps under win xp x64) and the matrox axio codecs.

we got the (afore mentioned two) codecs running via a .inf "hack"
described in a lagarith64bit readme file.

We have the matrox axio codecs here, but the installer is an exe file
and if we try to run it it says "codecs can not be installed under 64 bit windows"
So we took the .dll(s) and the registry keys and put them in our 64bit windows system.
(As pretty much expected) The codecs are not working at the moment,
but appear under the installed codecs, but the system says
"Der Treiber ist aktiviert aber nicht funktionstüchtig"
("the driver is activated but not funtional").
What else do we need to "change" or apply so we get this driver running?

What freeware tools are available to "sniff" into the installing process and see
what the exe-installer changes besides the registry keys and copying the dll in
a given folder?

Thanx a lot, greetings, Ben
