so i got a hp xw9300 workstation and wanted to put a clean install on, and i decided on a 64bit edition which didn't come stock on it so i wiped the hd and put on win xp 64bit. after the first restart of the computer when the install had completed i logged on no problem, then i turned it off and later that day i turned it on and typed my password in but windows said it was incorrect which i thought was weird. so i try'd around 50 different variations of the password and finally gave up and downloaded ophrack (which is a linux based program used to reveal user passwords in microsoft xp and vista) to see what my password was the same or if it had changed. it was the same password and i checked my keyboard to make sure there were no problems with it and it was perfectly fine. so thats what brought me here. I'm not sure what to do becuase when i try and load the windows disk it says my hd's are not found but with ophrack it finds both my hd's. so does anyone have any ideas on what my issue is or how to fix it?

Ok so you know that your password is correct.

Let me go out on a limb here and say that you are using the welcome screen, and not the classic login screen.
Press and ctrl-alt-del 2 times in rapid succession, to enable classic login screen instead of standard welcome screen.
Enter username and password.

Also there might be a conflict if your computer name is same as user name, which shouldnt be possible to make in the first place, but i have read posts where this was the case.
