I'm trying to install the Java 6.0 update 7 on my Vista Home Premium and I get the same error every time.

Error 1101.Error reading from file:
http://javadl-esd.sun.com/update/1.6.0/sp-...0_07/sp1033.MST. Verify that the file exists and that you can access it.

I've tried running as administrator, I've tried running in compatibility mode for Windows XP SP2.

Instructions are given for this error code on the Sun Java help pages, but they refer to other versions of Windows -- not Vista. They gave some instructions which I went ahead and followed anyway -- didn't work -- instructions stated if you still can't install to download and reinstall the Windows Installer Package. They gave a link and I went there but again, that installer package was for other versions of Windows.

How do I know if my Windows Installer is working? I had just uninstalled the Adobe Flash Player and then reinstalled the newest version and that worked.

Any help would be appreciated.

thank you
