If using the source from a XP CD, make sure that it is clean and not scratched.

It sometimes works better if you copy the files to the HDD somewhere and change the xpcreate.ini XP source accordingly.

I got the same error message when I modfy .INF files in i386. So your files are corrupt, I'm afraid.

Or Didn't you use another steem tool before performing XPCREATE?
