I have slipstreamed DX9 using jdeboeck's method.
All goes perfect, I've checked dxdiag - all tabs show "No problems found." But then I checked setuperr.log in \Windows and here's what it shows: CODE Error: Setup could not register the OLE Control E:\WINDOWS\System32\asfsipc.dll because of the following error: LoadLibrary returned error 126 (the specified module could not be found). *** Error: Setup could not register the OLE Control E:\WINDOWS\System32\dpnwsock.dll because of the following error: LoadLibrary returned error 126 (the specified module could not be found). *** Error: Setup could not register the OLE Control E:\WINDOWS\System32\dpnmodem.dll because of the following error: LoadLibrary returned error 126 (the specified module could not be found). *** Error: Setup could not register the OLE Control E:\WINDOWS\System32\dpnaddr.dll because of the following error: GetProcAddress returned error 127 (the specified procedure could not be found). *** Error: Setup could not register the OLE Control E:\WINDOWS\System32\dpnlobby.dll because of the following error: GetProcAddress returned error 127 (the specified procedure could not be found). Here's what I got on the Network tab in directxdiag: CODE DirectPlay8 Modem Service Provider OK dpnet.dll 5.03.0000.0900 DirectPlay8 Serial Service Provider OK dpnet.dll 5.03.0000.0900 DirectPlay8 IPX Service Provider OK dpnet.dll 5.03.0000.0900 DirectPlay8 TCP/IP Service Provider OK dpnet.dll 5.03.0000.0900 Internet TCP/IP Connection for DirectPlay OK dpwsockx.dll 5.03.0000.0900 IPX Connection For DirectPlay OK dpwsockx.dll 5.03.0000.0900 Modem Connection For DirectPlay OK dpmodemx.dll 5.03.0000.0900 Serial Connection For DirectPlay OK dpmodemx.dll 5.03.0000.0900 Is this all normal for the slipstreaming process and should I look for an error? |

its normal..
two of them were part of dx8, but are no longer in dx9... they are removed and so they give an error when xp tries to register them. two other files had to be registered in dx8, but dx9 no longer has a register function for them... they give an error because these can't be registered. the errors occur because i'm stuck with the 'old' syssetup.inf... setup should not attempt to register those dll's, but i cant change that |
