I have created a ramdrive iso that is supposed to load a WindowsPE iso, but I am getting BSODs because it either fails to load or can't find the controller driver.
I am not sure what version of PE media I'm using (I think it's 2005). I tried building the PE image using W2K3SP1 source cd, but it kept calling for XPSP2 media. I then used the XP media and created the iso. Maybe my version of PE is older? If I burn the PE iso to disc and boot, WindowsPE comes up fine. When I boot up the ramdrive iso, it shows the ramdrive being built, then WindowsPE attempts to load but immediately goes to BSOD. I am building this for the purpose of swapping out discs to load a ghost image, and am in an environment where BartPE is not an option. Any ideas or suggestions? |

Download the latest version of WAIK from Microsoft and either follow their guide for booting a WIM image into RAM or search this forum.

When you say you are booting the ISO, I presume you mean you are booting the files that you would put into the ISO, since an ISO file by itself is not bootable.

Thanks.
Using the newer version of PE works like a champ! |
