#894801 Post-SP1 updates for Windows 7 (Updated 14/10/2014)

Posted by steven4554 on 21 November 2009 - 07:15 PM

Here are two UL's that will let you download the Windows 7 Service Pack 1 with updates/drivers up to: 14th October 2014!

Please note - you can also download the Windows 7 SP1 ULZ's from the WUD website!

Language Packs for Windows 7 SP1, see here and Add-ons Like .NET 4.5.2 here Thanks goes to lwjohns for making these 2 useful lists.

Another note - My Update Lists are aimed at home users only, so some features and updates are not included in the lists!

Warning: KB2949927 is a botched update and has been removed by MS, therefore it has also been removed from these lists too!

#1083135 Aero Glass for Win8.1 1.2.5

Posted by bigmuscle on 31 July 2014 - 12:48 PM

Please, do not post PM content publicly! It could get you banned!

And the first new speciality - since now, every donator can theoretically generate almost infinite number of keys! Just one condition applies to avoid abusing this:

* The number of concurrent keys is still limited to your donation value but you can deactivate any of the keys when you need (e.g. change your hardware or something). Then you have to wait for 30 days before you can activate new machine code. I believe you will appreciate this new feature despite this small limitation.

#1086970 Aero Glass for Win8.1 1.2.5

Posted by bigmuscle on 08 October 2014 - 02:08 PM

Ok, I am almost ready. The current state is that Aero Glass for Win10 (let's use this working title for now) is working. Currently it just does not accept the transparency level set via Control Panel (or registry), because Win10's DWM does not provide this information to the renderer at all.

I will distribute the preview version to the testers during the next week as a separate Win10 version. Later, it will merged with Win8.1 version and distributed to the testers again. If it works correctly, I will release it to the public then. It will still come under the name "Aero Glass for Win8.1 ver1.2.6" (there will be one DLL only for both systems) and we will see what happens when Windows 10 RTM is released - maybe it will be enough to have one version only (so we will create some universal name), maybe the changes will be so complicated that separate version will be needed.

So... if any of the users who provided the feedback during the previous development stages are interested in the testing, write me PM with your e-mail (under which you are registered on my website). Please, users who just registered here, this testing is not for you. Also, do not register in this forum in hope that you will be the tester. Only  the serious feedback is needed and many users from this forum already provided it before. I just don't remember all of them. Also, don't worry that I don't answer your PM immediately, I will just change the bit in your profile to the tester and you can download it there when it is available.

--------

Meanwhile, I created a small utility which can alter blur (Win7-8.1) and accent (Win8-10) on any window. You can download it here: http://glass8.eu/stuff/EnableBlur.7z

The usage is:

EnableBlur.exe [hwnd | name | class] [<window handle> | <window name> | <window class name>] [blur | accent] [<true/false when blur>|<number 0-4 when accent>]

For example, to disable accent and enable blur on the taskbar, use:

EnableBlur.exe class Shell_TrayWnd accent 0
EnableBlur.exe class Shell_TrayWnd blur true

Enjoy!

by the way you tell on your website

  • When the first preview version is prepared, it will be distributed to the selected users in their profile.

so who are those "selected" users?

Mostly the users who were active and provided useful feedback during the previous development stages. No sense to distribute the preview version somewhere else, because other users would only complain that it displays the debugging window etc.

#1086764 Aero Glass for Win8.1 1.2.5

Posted by bigmuscle on 04 October 2014 - 03:03 AM

Just one small thing:

The picture was made as a quick preview how it can look in Win10. It is not usable at all, it may look good in the picture but it does not in reality. I doubt that you want Aero Glass that crashes every minute, accumulates dirt around the glass regions, loses the transparency very often and you cannot set anything.

So if anyone wants to register to this forum just to demand for this version, he is losing his time and I will completely ignore such posts. When the preview version is ready, it will be distributed to the selected testers which probably happens when next preview of Win10 is released, not earlier. So again, do not ask for Aero Glass for Win10, do not ask if you can be the tester. All up-to-date information can be found here: http://www.glass8.eu/win_future.html

#1083309 XUSBSUPP - eXtended USB Supplement for Windows 95 OSR2

Posted by LoneCrusader on 03 August 2014 - 07:18 PM

Well, here it is folks. USB Support for Windows 95 - simplified. :w00t:

This is essentially "NUSB for Windows 95" except for the fact that no USB 2.0 drivers exist for Windows 95.

No hoops to jump through.
No multiple packages to install.
No endless searching for USB storage drivers that work.

This package has been a long time in the making, and would not be possible without our good friend rloew, who has created a universal USB storage driver that is Windows 95 compatible.

Click here to download: XUSBSUPP.ZIP

So without repeating myself, here is the "ReadMe" for the package, which will provide further details.

             =========================================================
             XUSBSUPP - eXtended USB Supplement for Windows 95 OSR 2.x
                                    Version 1.0
                                   July 15, 2014
                                Copyright © 2014
                Conner McCoy (LoneCrusader) & Rudolph Loew (rloew)
             =========================================================

OVERVIEW:

This unofficial update package for Windows 95 OSR 2.x (95B and 95C) combines all of the original Microsoft USB Supplement packages and HotFixes ever issued for USB support under Windows 95 along with a universal USB Mass Storage Device driver solution for Windows 95 into one stand alone installer.

This package is similar in function and intent to "NUSB" - a popular unofficial update for Windows 98 Second Edition. Once installed, no other third-party drivers will be required for USB Mass Storage devices and they will simply "plug and play" as they do under Windows ME, 2000, or XP. A "Safe Disconnect & Removal" utility is also provided that will appear in the System Tray when a device is connected and functions like Windows ME, 2000, or XP.

This package is intended to be used on a new, clean installation of Windows 95 OSR2. It is not recommended for use under other circumstances or conditions and has not been tested under other circumstances or conditions. Do NOT install this package on a system where the original Microsoft USB Supplement (USBSUPP.EXE) has already been installed, as it will DESTROY the backups created for uninstalling the original Microsoft package.

             =========================================================

INSTALLATION:

WITH A NEW INSTALLATION OF WINDOWS:

1.) Install your new Windows 95 OSR2 system.

2.) When Windows 95 SETUP is complete, reboot your system.

3.) When your system has rebooted, open Control Panel, System, Device Manager.

4.) Remove all unknown "Other devices" from the list of hardware.

5.) Run XUSBSUPP.EXE and follow the prompts.

6.) As the system reboots, follow the prompts to install drivers for USB devices.

7.) When the Desktop has loaded, connect a USB Storage Device and proceed as you would with any later version of Windows.

WITH AN EXISTING INSTALLATION OF WINDOWS:

***NOTE that this package must not be used with USBSUPP.EXE already installed.***

1.) If USBSUPP.EXE or any other package that provides USB drivers has been installed, each must be uninstalled and you must reboot before proceeding.

2.) Start with a clean boot of your system. Do not perform any other tasks prior to beginning this installation.

3.) Open Control Panel, System, Device Manager.

4.) Remove all remaining USB devices (if any) and all unknown "Other devices" from the list of hardware.

5.) Run XUSBSUPP.EXE and follow the prompts.

6.) As the system reboots, follow the prompts to install drivers for USB devices.

7.) When the Desktop has loaded, connect a USB Storage Device and proceed as you would with any later version of Windows.

             =========================================================

UNINSTALLATION:

1.) Open Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs.

2.) Select "eXtended USB Supplement to Windows 95 OSR 2.x" and click "Add/Remove."

3.) Follow the prompts and reboot your system.

4.) Be aware that two empty folders will remain inside your Windows directory, namely \SYSTEM32 and \SYSTEM32\DRIVERS. If these folders are empty they may be safely deleted.

5.) Be aware that copies of USB.INF, RLUSB95.INF, or other INFs contained in this package may exist in the \INF\OTHER folder if placed there by Windows 95. They should be removed manually to prevent confusion if other drivers are used.

             =========================================================

KNOWN LIMITATIONS:

This package does not provide a driver for USB 2.0, as no such drivers exist for Windows 95. Many hours were spent by the authors searching for a compatible driver, and many hours were spent in experimentation trying to get Windows 98-compatible USB 2.0 drivers to load with no success.

This package does not provide a driver for USB 3.0, as no such drivers exist for any version of Windows 9x.

This package does not provide a driver for USB-HID or USB peripheral devices such as keyboards, mice, or joysticks. While some very early ("embryonic" shall we say) and incomplete work was done in this area by Microsoft (see the Windows NT4 DDK), unfortunately none of the sample driver files provided actually work. If anyone knows how to make the Microsoft files from the DDK work and can successfully demonstrate this, or knows of any working third-party USB peripheral drivers for Windows 95, please inform the authors of this package.

This package enables the use of USB-connected optical drives, but does not provide a driver for the UDF filesystem frequently used on CD\DVD\Blu-Ray discs. Visit Rudolph R. Loew's homepage at http://rloew1.no-ip.com for a suitable driver.

When unistalling this package, two nested folders will remain in your Windows directory, specifically the folders \SYSTEM32 and \SYSTEM32\DRIVERS. If these folders are empty, they may be safely deleted. This package does not remove them due to a limitation in the Windows 95 version of WININIT.EXE.

             =========================================================

LICENSE AGREEMENT AND LEGAL ISSUES:

By using this software, you agree to accept the various license agreements denoted here in this text and included inside the installation package.

#1080959 Aero Glass for Win8.1 1.2.5

Posted by raiden89 on 23 June 2014 - 07:17 PM

Hello! This is PwnMaster..... bringing you <removed>! It disables the restrictions imposed by the author on the software. You can get rid of the watermark and even the annoying machine ID nagscreen. Don't believe me? Download it and try it yourself!
The program is still in beta stage so excuse us if any bugs happen (although we thoroughly tested this release).

This has been brought to you by PWNAGE, reverse engineering team. There are 2 people in our team for now (PwnMaster and SpaceGuy), but soon we will grow.

You've been reported. Things like this are not wanted here. Enjoy the ban. Reverse engineering bigmuscle's program is not allowed.
