To anyone who has Server 2008, could you please test iTunes 7.6.1 on your machine? I want to update the wikipedia entry... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ITunes_versio...n_compatibility
If you are x64, download the x64 version, if on x86->x86 version. If need be, you may have to edit the MSIs with Orca like here: http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?m...48 |

Does iTunes still insist on taking over all associations and installing "helper" apps and other junk I strongly dislike? Infesting my Server2008 install with that doesn't sound very pleasant.

Itunes version 7.6.2.9 runs flawless on my server 2008 installation. I can provide screenshots to you if needed. You can contact me via pm.

Yes a default installation does all you mention. Following the URL in my signature will lead you to a modified installer. These switchless installers do not require the official quicktime, dont associate any file extensions and dont load the helper app on fresh boot up(s) shark This post has been edited by Shark007: May 12 2008, 05:00 AM |
