Once you associate a file to open with a particular program/player the file itself will take on a subset icon of the player chosen. Usually people have 'thumbnail view' set and never see these icons. shark |

If you want Klite behavior, you should go back to using it.
This package was not built to compete with Klite. It was built to give users a working solution. Period. During the last 2 years of development of VCP, I listened to the users needs. I did what they wanted to the best of my ability. They told me no associations should be made by the codecpack. They told me no player should be included with the codecpack. They wanted to be able to choose their player of choice and this is what VCP allows. Yes, windows ships with WMP and using this codecpack, anyfile can be played with it. The main reason other codecpacks include a player is to make up for their malfunctioning releases by directing you to use a certain player. With VCP all you need to do is install it. Choose your favorite player. Watch your videos. It works as advertised. shark This post has been edited by Shark007: Jul 18 2008, 06:23 PM |

You are really full of s*** lately, aren't you?
Other codec packs also allow users to play their files in WMP, or in any other DirectShow player for that matter. That's the whole idea behind the DirectShow system. The reason why some other packs include an (optional!) player such as MPC is because that is clearly superior to WMP. You must surely agree to that, since you also offer MPC for download. Some users just want more than just being able to play their files. File associations yes or no, that is a design choice. Nothing wrong with that. But claiming that other packs include MPC because they are lacking functionality is pure bulls***. But good luck bashing others with crappy argumentations. You are still 3rd after CCCP |

I Have An Old Version That Support Assosiation With WMP And I Have Install It. Is Old Ver Have Any Problem of Playing? This pack has never directly associated anything to any player. Using an older version than current available releases will have definate steps backwards. The only reason new versions get released is because they are improved over previous releases. You are still 3rd after CCCP For theose that don't know, clsid = K-Crap (K-Lite) developer. [ignoring the rest of your spew] but glad to see you're keeping an eye on VCP development. 3rd is OK. People still need to try out their current favourites functionality before switching to VCP permanently. shark |

But whatever makes you sleep at night. |

What VCP does is not very interesting nor innovative. Klite is NOT interesting and innovative either, in fact ,, it sucks. Thats why people are using VCP. To clsid - please take your bashing to your own forum, MSFN is not interested you or your style. * locked * This post has been edited by Shark007: Jul 21 2008, 01:17 PM |
