Was IE7 slipstreamed or did HFSLIP create IE7_INST.EXE?

I just did two tests with both HFSLIP 1.7.8 (IE7SLIPSTREAM=1) and the latest pre-alpha of HFSLIP 2.0 on an English Windows XP source and Microsoft Update is clean in both cases.

Are you using an OEM version?

Funny thing: KB950759 needs on one of my computers reinstall by Windows update again and again and again...

IE and hotfixes up to January/February 2008 included/slipstreamed. SP3 was installed by Windows update... 'Reinstall error' only on Laptop/Notebook.

@zedox

Can you check in SOURCE\I386 (not SOURCESS) which set of files you have; either these:

BROWSEUI.DLL
IEPEERS.DLL
MSHTML.DLL
SHDOCVW.DLL
SHLWAPI.DLL
URLMON.DLL

or these:

BROWSEUI.DL_
IEPEERS.DL_
MSHTML.DL_
SHDOCVW.DL_
SHLWAPI.DL_
URLMON.DL_

I ran into the same issue. I was using the first IE7 without WGA. I re-downloaded IE7 dated 03JUL08 and was able to slipstream IE7 and the KB950759 with no issues. Give that a try...

I have a feeling either a silent exe that i have in HFSVCPACK is causing this error.
Or... DELCATS=1 in HFANSWER.INI is causing it.

I'm currently testing.

I can confirm, DELCATS=1 causes the problem.

Hi, I'm having this same problem but with a Windows 2000 Pro source, with SP4 and the_guy's list of updates added as HF folder hotfixes. IE6.0sp1-KB950759-Windows2000-x86-ENU.exe is the offending hotfix!

Update: I took my SOURCESS and ran nLite over it. I added this hotfix via nLite and left everything else alone - I only used nLite's hotfix section (no tweaks, options, unattend section or anything)

This resulted in the hotfix being integrated and when I test installed the ISO KB90579 did not show in Windows Update anymore.

Any clues??

DELCATS=1 in HFANSWER.INI in the HFTOOLS folder?

Asking me I presume? smile.gif in my HFTOOLS I have only reg.exe cmdow.exe and HFSLIP_POST_getnewfiles_v3.cmd

There is no HFANSWER.INI. I have:

SOURCE - Windows 2000 Professional CD (no SP)
HF - Service Pack 4 + all the updates in the_guy's list
HFCABS - cabs for IE6 and Windows Update Agent/website
HFGUIRUNONCE - UPHClean.msi
HFSVCPACK - DNF11.exe and DNF20.exe switchless silent dotnet installers 1.1 and 2.0 as created using Silent .NET Maker batch file

When I try to run HFSLIP with this problem hotfix it runs and produces SOURCESS but the hotfix still shows up in windows update. So I removed the hotfix from HF, started over and then just integrated it into SOURCESS using nLite. That approach worked for me, I don't know why!

Wel that was what caused my problem. Not sure about yours, as its with 2000. Hopefully Tomcat76 will be able to assist you. Good luck!
