Don't get me wrong, Thorium runs against all expectations well overall, and I've just made some more performance improvements by changing some flags I have been using. On such systems, it is essential to select the correct flags that really correspond to the hardware. In any case, one thing is true. Thorium definitely runs on Intel Pentium 4 single-core 32-bit. Thus, here is one who runs a Chrome 122 under Windows XP on a 20 years old Pentium 4 CPU. And it's me. PS: And as always, I know exactly what I'm doing.

I don't like to do address bar searching, so I never change or add search engines to Chrome-type browsers. I preferred old Firefox and Palemoon versions that have a dedicated search field on the UI and for those I have added search engines to.

A Raspberry Pi 5 offers much more enjoyable browsing experience than any old, loud and clunky computer from over 2 decades ago or so.

Never tried before uBlock Origin Lite. Always the standard version. But I will test it. However, I believe that the page loading speed is a general problem of Chrome and not of uBO, especially on old, weak hardware.

Try temporarily disabling UBO and installing UBO Lite and do some testing.

Hello Dietmar! I am actually trying to restore your backup on an empty hdd. But i need the paragon iso you once gave me. I tried an iso i found on the internet but it doesn't give me the option to restore backup image. I think i will also need the backup image that you created.

I have just updated the Chrome XP API Adapter from version 1.2.0.5035 to 1.2.0.5045. Now, the page chrome://system/ works as it should and shows besides other information the RAM usage more compact than using the internal task manager. I have opened two tabs and eight extensions enabled in Thorium. The total RAM consumption is around 381 MB, also checked via Process Hacker. Here is a screenshot: I think such a RAM consumption is appropriate for a modern Chrome browser under Windows XP and remains within reasonable limits. However, the page loading behaviour in Thorium is still far away from the one in New Moon 28 or Mypal 68 on such an old, weak computer like mine. Cheers, AstroSkipper

Over the past 2 days I have successfully used a policy in Edge to eliminate the automatic addition of the other search engines that I unwanted in the list. I then made my only search engine default. The search engine “BING” was removed from the list. Of course, I uninstalled the extension.

You're indeed right! I fired up my old VPN client at home, not work, and I get unauthorized HTTP error 403 at imgur! But I also get that freaking spacer.png (not always! On random) without it, using Thorium, go figure!

Unfortunately, I don't know that "collaborator", and he seems to be absent on MSFN either, there's no official statement by win32 on the link you gave, what was I supposed to "not notice"? I fail to believe win32 wouldn't find two seconds to comment on such serious matter at that github page himself. Another oddity, that repository (topic) is locked now, and what if people wanted to say something about it, probably add another fake page, warnings?

I checked again all three extennsions. My favourite is Autoplay Whitelist. This one memorises all permitted websites in a whitelist.

I got nowhere. All it did in 6 hours was heat up the room and increase the cost of electricity bill for the current month.

What I've told you has nothing to do with debugging, I can't teach you the answer you need because I am not a programmer. Instead I told you the solution I used, so you can run IDA and hex editor to modify the driver. Officially the minimum requirement of Quadro DCH driver is 17098. That is why 1803(17134) is required. But old minimum requirement in standard driver still works so Tuning GPUs still work on 1709 with DCH driver. If GeForce DCH driver requires 1803, I think 1803 should be enough for Ada Lovelace GPUs.
