Ah, good. I was worried about some of the bugs in the 2.1 release thread. Hope this is the end-all solution for 2.1. I'll be testing this as soon as I restore the rest of my programs (reinstalled OS, re-partitioned drives to allow for REAL DOS 7.1 and Win9x installation :) ).

In fact, they were not any serious bug in the 2.1, but I want to quickly fix the reported problems.

It's great that SP provides two great PowerToys: CommandPromptHere and TweakUI.

There is one more great tool from the past that I would love to see in SP (optional).

It is WinTop (aka Windows Process Watcher, aka top for windows). It is a part of this package:

http://www.microsoft.com/windows95/downloa...Toy/Default.asp

I check that it works and it is a perfect tool to actually see what is actually running.

Hello,

with your version 2.1a i got a problem while installing, before the end of the SP install, Windows tells me that the compobj.dll file has been replaced by an older version, that the file is in use and that windows must restart to repair the problem.

Is it possible to avoid that message to be shown?

On the site you gave, it says specifically *not* to use that PowerToy with Win98. Have you had any problems using it with 98SE? Just wondering why they say not to....

French SP on French Windows 98 SE...

Compobj.dll is english, i didn't find it in french.

To original file is the version 2.3.200.0 and the new one is 2.3.200.1...

Try this:

COMPOBJ.DLL,,COMPOBJ.TMP,4

Also try to add a line to Copy.Sysbckup:

COMPOBJ.DLL,,,4

Please let me know the result.

Yes it works with the two lines....

Thanks WebMatze. It looks like a language problem. Does anyone have this problem in English Win 98 SE?

@swgreed: It looks like DSOUND.DLL problem is similar. Please, add these two lines for DSOUND.DLL and COMPOBJ.DLL to solve "in use" problems.
