I just updated to the newest version of Vista Codec x64 Components on my vista ultimate 64 laptop. I have the s/pdif working before, now nothing with this new package. I have gone into the audio decoder setting and set up dts and ac3 to disabled. I believe there used to be a spdif option under these 2 before. Under the output option I have checked ac3 and dts under pass-through s/pdif/hdmi. Nothing has changed on my system, other than updating the codecs.
Just went back to version 1.53b2 and s/pdif works again.

I don't own s/pdif hardware so I am unable to test this personally.
Using version 5.0.2, uninstall any previous version.
Choose a Custom installation, click next, next, next untill installed
Open the Audio decoder configuration shortcut
scroll the left side window and click on Output
Upper portion of the righthand window you will see Pass-through (S/PDIF, HDMI)
select the boxes below that, click apply

Not sure why you want me to install the Vista codec package when I only need the vista 64 components. This is a bug in version 1.5.4, as I am running an ealier version and spdif works. I set up the output section as you have said, but still no go.
I have not installed the vista codecs, as I do not need them, just the components.

I misread your 1st post. For some reason I thought the issue was 32bit.
I will make a test version (or 2) available and if you're willing, please try them for me.
As I said, I don't own the hardware so it is difficukt for me to troubleshoot this.
I will contact you via Private Message with download URL's of the test version(s) a.s.a.p. (within the next day or 2)

Hi,
I used x64 components and also having problems with AC3/DTS over S/PDIF passthru.
Actually when i open any mkv movie in Windows Media Player x64 it's start playing and I hear sound on my receiver but after 1 sec WMP bring me the error.
I can make a screenshot for you later today.

Both of these will not work for me, just crashes wmp. Back to 1.5.3 at this time. Seems like a nasty little bug to fix, thanks for your work on this.

I am using the shortcuts (took me a while to find this post) and can test for you but I can only find a link for 1.5.7 final.
Please recheck links on main page.
Thank you for the best codec pack in the world.
EDIT:
Link was corrected and I was able to download 1.5.8
On the default settings everything is decoded to pcm.
I opened up the audio decoder, unchecked everything just to make sure and checked DD/DTS under the Output tab.
Using hdmi connection I got DD on an mkv file in vmc, I trust DTS works in the same way.
Good job on fixing this, the shortcuts are no longer required.

It is feedback like this that I cannot put a price on.
Thank You.I appreciate you taking the time to post.
If anyone else can confirm that the s/pdif shortcuts are no longer required, that would be great also.
