hi hope you can help got vist home premium 64 i have tryed in wmp 32 and 64 bit but can not get DTS sound to work but it will run in media player classic any help pls.

Have have the lates builds of VCP 32/64 bit.

With a default installation...
On 32bit machines AC3Filter is set to decode DTS audio.
On 64bit machines ffdshow is set to decode DTS audio.

If you have Vista Premium or Ultimate you can try disabling DTS
in AC3Filter and FFDshow beacuse the OS can decode the streams.

What is the source of your DTS audio? A single file, like an MP3?
Is providing a sample possible?

When you install the x64 Components addon it automatically sets ffdshow to decode DTS.
You may need to disable this setting. I may need to make a change to the default settings...

Open the Audio decoder configuration shortcut, set DTS to disabled.
This will allow AC3Filter (32bit) to decode DTS.

i reinstall the ac3filter and try and let you know thxs

did a full reinstall as above did not help but found out the wmp is not useing ac3filter to decode AC3 or DTS and i tryed before i put the 64Bit pack on and after too

its like wmp is locked into using just the ms codes !

i have the same issue. im on vista premium 32. uninstalled k-lite codecs, ran a clean unaltered install of vcp 5.05 and have the same trouble. also im using arcsoft total media theatre and get sound but no picture since installing vcp.

any idear how to unlock wmp so it can use the diffent codes for dvd pls

I am hoping to have this corrected for the release of version 5.0.6

In version 5.0.6 AC3Filter is completely removed favoring FFDshow (which has many audio improvements)


I may release a private BETA to ipd56 for testing.
If I can get access to highspeed internet over the weekend. pending . . .

i send you a pm not good news and i dont think it the ac3filter it micosoft code is always being used.
and yes dailup sucks that why i got a virgin media cable 20mb/s

btw DTS does work in 64-bit WMP but not in MCE
