After downloading and installing vLite, I started vLite.

vLite directed me to install WAIK.

When I download WAIK I get an image file (.iso).

When I attempt to do anyting with this image file, I asked to identiy the program to open the image file. Apparently to open this file I need to buy a program.

If I try to bypass the installation of WAIK by hitting CANCEL, vLite goes away.

None of this seems to agree with what I have read about vLite.

Can anyone give my a suggestion?

No need to buy a program Google isorecorder, burn WAIK to a DVD. Then install WAIK. After that manually copy the wingapi.dll and inf files to that x86 folder in the vLite folder.

I just found this great sounding program and downloaded it. Once I started the installation I had a pop up tell me I needed .NET Framework 2.0 to run this properly. There was no information on the site telling me I would need this to install/run it. OK so I downloaded that as well seeing as though it was only a small file size. After successfully installing both I then ran vLite for the 1st time to be told I need this WAIK thing. Yet another program that wasn't listed that I would need to run vLite. So I went to the site to download it, but the file is a god **** 1+ GB! That is freaking ridiculous! Some of us have a limited amount we can download each month and downloading a 1GB file just so we can run vLite is crazy. All I wanted to do was slipstream SP1 into my Vista so I don't have to install Vista and then SP1 after as I hate doing that. I prefer to install it all at once, but now I won't be able to because of this crazy 1GB file that was NOT noted anywhere before installing vLite.

I highly suggest you add this to the front page or somewhere so people don't waste their time downloading and installing this program to find out it doesn't work without the addition of 2 other programs.

It was included in vlite before, but Microsoft wanted it remove.

You dont need to download the WAIK huge file, just use the rapidshare link to get the need files.

Did you even BOTHER reading my post (Like 2 above yours)?? It supplies a link (To a very tiny download) for the needed waik files... You're rant is useless, just search a bit! This app is going to be GONE and disappear if he keeps the WAIK files in it... Remember Autopatcher? MS shut them down for awhile because they were hosting MS files and fixes.

Simply download the file from my link, place the axtracted files into the vlite\wimfltr\x86\ folder and then off you go.

Please DONOT come back and rant because the SP1 slipstreaming proccess takes to long!!!
