I want to be able to connect remotely to our vista workstations from windows server 2003 via Remote Desktop. The workstations do not have remote desktop enabled. What's the correct way to do this?

enable remote desktop through the advanced system properties, (can be found by right clicking the My computer icon and going into properties)
from then in the left hand side click to enter the advanced settings. from there go into the remote tab and enable remote desktop, if this machine is part of a domain, add the AD groups you need to have access to it

I tried that but when i try to connect from the server i get the following error message :
The client could not establish a connection with the remote computer.
The most likely causes for this error are:
1)Remote connections might not be enabled at the remote computer.
2)The maximum number of connections was exceeded at the remote computer.
3) A network error occurred while establishing the connection.
I tried to connect from a vista machine and i was successful!?
Also if i have to enable remote desktop on all the clients is there away to enable them through GP or something like that?

Is the Remote Desktop ports open in the firewall on the clients?

Make sure you check the box that says "Allow other versions of RDC to connect."
Here is a link to help.
http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vis...-windows-vista/Also, just to make sure we are all on the same page here, you'll need Vista Bussiness or Ultimate. Vista Home Basic and Vista Home Premium do not have remote desktop available.
