How can i move the pagefile\hibernation file for my notebook from the c drive to the data drive (D)? I made my c partition a little bit to small and don't like it chewing up 2 gig of my hdd. I've disabled the pagefile, but use the standby function all of the time by just closing the lid. I know its a change needed in the registry, but all I see is a \hiberfil.sys value and I'm afraid to try something like modifying it to something like d:\hiberfil.sys. I also see something in the registry something like this... ?:\hiberfil.sys.

I've already burned 3 of my VLK licenses from my technet subscription with experimenting and don't need\want to do another reinstall.

TIA

You can change the location of the page file. But i dont think you can with the hibernate file.

Control Panel -> System -> Advance System Settings

Click on settings in performance box -> Choose "Advance" on top.

Click "Change" in virtual memory box. Now you can choos where to "SET" the page file.

I suggest a min and max size of the same amount (static).

It's not wise to put the page file at zero.
