heya pplz right i got a problem and no it anit my mental problem lol anyways I got sum DDR Ram 2day and i have on my board 2 SDRAM slot filled to 384mb and ive also got 2 DDR Ram slots dat are empty i put in my DDR ram which is 128mb and when i load up my PC and check to see if it loaded up on my PC but it says dat i only got 128 when shud b 512mb is anything iam missing out or summat here :S help!! lol

u sure u can mix standard sdram with ddr ram?
which mobo do u have and what ram did u buy?

You CAN NOT mix the two different modules of RAM (sdram, ddr). That is the problem.

Thats correct.
Also, give us the exact Mobo specs (the model number should be imprinted somewhere on the motherboard, as well as the type of RAM you've bought, so we can see for ourselves if its compatible or not

I can't think of the MB name but I built several different systems using a MB just like his.
On the MB there are a few switches that determine if you are using sdram or DDR. You have to set thos. But once again you can't use both.

Xperties is correct, the motherboard can only take one type of ram at a time...NOT both.

I agree with anyone here: it's SDRAM or DDR SDRAM, not both.
My computer didn't boot with two different DDR modules that had different timings, so it's impossible to run ordinary RAM and double-pumped RAM at once.
