hi
I have 2 machines one is a AMD Athlon 2500+ 1.83 mhz with 2 gig mem
and the other is a AMD Athlon 2400+ 2.04 mhz with 2 gig
which machine is the fastest please

If that 2500+ is a 333MHz FSB and the 2400+ is a 266MHz FSB, then I'd have to say the 2500+ @ 1.83GHz and a 333MHz FSB is faster.

Well, I would say the 2400+ CPU, more clocks on the same CPU structure, although we are talking about different cores here but with the same logic, would give you more "power".
But, all depends on your applications, chipset, RAM, VGA and OS... And almost forgot, your HDD...

how much L2 cache does the both processors have, whats the mother board FSB speed , yuh have to state this too

Use CPU-Z to find this info out if you don't know any other way.

He... I dont see much diference in speed between 256kB an 512kB cache, neither in 266 and 333MHz bus.

Did you say 2500+? Is it the mobile version?
If so, you can overclock it to XP 3200+ speeds... if you memory/motherboard allows it.
More info with CPU-Z would be helpful.
