Hello there guys, I just wanted to know if there is a way for me to install Vista from my storage drive. It not that I don't have a DVD-ROM, I just wanted to see how fast it will install if I run the entire Setup from my second drive. Also I am need access to commend-line when I boot-up my PC. I don't think I can use the old Windows 98/ME Boot Disk, Can I?

So if there is a way for me to setup vista from my second hardrive please let me know and also let me know what tool do I need to access Command-Line when I bootup my PC.

THX!

I have not tried running from usb drive. However, I think it'd be quite easy so...instead of posting that question try doing a search across the different forums here.

As for your command window. SHIFT-F10 (or was that CTRL-F10 or ALT-F10?) laugh.gif

I did do some research and I really didn't get whole a lot of answers. Also my guess on the 98/Me Boot disk is that, they might t work because they don't support NTFS File System. So if you got a link to a website, share it with me. But other then that, thx for the input!

You would have to install XP, then run an upgrade install. Certainly not the ideal way to go about it, but good enough.

i think i'd read about bootable disks / CD rom with NTFS support, so that you can gain access to hard drive...
try search for that.

Have you tried searching in MSFN WinPE section? It is certainly possible, much much easier that installing XP. Just have a look there.
