can I use my RIS services running on Server 2003 to deploy vista?

No, you have to make the move to WDS to deploy Vista.

Great, thanks!

So, can WDS deploy XP or only Vista?

If you want to go to WDS you will need to go Mixed mode not native.

if you go Native you lose legacy RISSetup image support & you wont be able to unattended install XP as is best with RIS. You will only be able to creat WIM images of XP machines & install from this in native mode. You will then hit HAL issues that you get with riprep.

Im setup in mixed mode WDS but at present i dont use WDS for Vista as were not deploying or installing that for a long time. its slow & Pooh.
