realmad.gif I cant allow other computers to access my shared or public folders on a home network. I can access other computers shared files but they

cant access mine. It says Owner-pc (thats the name of the laptop) is not accessible. My vista desktop can also be accessed by my ps3 but not the laptop.

Im running home premium on a compaq presario v6000 if that helps and heres a link to another thread with pretty much the same problem.

Need more info:

What firewall are you running?
Is your laptop on the same WORKGROUP?
Have you set up the Network and Sharing Center? What are your settings?

Windows firewall, yes same workgroup,
Location Type Private
Network Discovery on
FileSharing on
Public Sharing Folder on ; anyone w/ access can open change or create
Printer Sharing off
Password protected shring off
Media Sharing on

Thanks for a response I really need some help. If there is a way to completely reset network back to default Ill take it and then fix what i need to back. Even tried Calling Microsoft but they wanted to charge me for help blink.gif If you need more in fo let me know

1 disable all firewalls on everything
2 disable ipv6 in the properties of the network connection
3 ping each system vis versa
4 wait til sp1 maybe something good might come of it do some research on the web google.

Double check the permissions on the folders/drives you're trying to share. I had a file sharing issue recently where I couldn't access a shared drive. Turned out the permissions were all wrong.
