HFSLIP does process the new files. However Windows Update still needs to download some dll file, but not the whole component. Pretty good imho

If you want the new muauth.cab for slipstreaming, just copy it from "C:\WINDOWS\SoftwareDistribution\AuthCabs" after installing the new agent.
I found also a newer version of the MUweb_site.cab (7.2.6001.784):

I can only find older versions
After I installed the new Windows Update Agent, and visited Microsoft Update and did a scan for updates, those two files were at version 7.2.6001.784 in my \windows\system32 directory. I didn't check the file versions immediately after installing, so I don't know if they were updated by the installer, or by visiting Microsoft Update.

They are updated by the installer. If you extract the executable you can find both desired files.

It would be helpful if the OP (Tomalak) or a MOD/ADMIN could change the second part of this thread title from
"Version 7.1.6001.65"
to
"Version 7.2.6001.784"
Please.

Edit: DONE! Thank you

There's a newer version of the Windows Update Agent (WindowsUupdateAgent30-x86.exe) announced --
version 7.2.6001.788.
See
KB949104 "How to obtain the latest version of the Windows Update Agent to help manage updates on a computer"
Don't bother trying to download it just yet, because Microsoft have managed to give three
broken links to it.

links don't work...
That's because they are the exact same links as are listed in the KB article I posted.
KB949104.
Except, that by now they are beginning to propagate. Two of them now work. The third still doesn't.
Come on Microsoft. Get you act together. When the KB article says:
QUOTE
Release Date: Thursday, October 30, 2008
that's wishful thinking, not a version of reality that's actually recognised in Europe.

What actually needs to be included into hfslip for it to fully slipstream properly? I do not have time to test this at the moment.

willydejoe1234 - Please include the recommended hotfixes on the update page and report back. You got some extras there. Also, you may want to consider renaming your REG file so there is not a space in it so it would get parsed correctly. Can you get a regshot of the registry changes after you accept to install the activex? Sorry not much help otherwise.
engert100 - your question is better suited for a different forum. HFLSIP isn't a WSUS forum.
