HFSLIP does process the new files. However Windows Update still needs to download some dll file, but not the whole component. Pretty good imho thumbup.gif

where is the new MUAuth.cab? thanks ..
Smiley89
If you want the new muauth.cab for slipstreaming, just copy it from "C:\WINDOWS\SoftwareDistribution\AuthCabs" after installing the new agent.

I found also a newer version of the MUweb_site.cab (7.2.6001.784):

After I installed the new Windows Update Agent, and visited Microsoft Update and did a scan for updates, those two files were at version 7.2.6001.784 in my \windows\system32 directory. I didn't check the file versions immediately after installing, so I don't know if they were updated by the installer, or by visiting Microsoft Update.

They are updated by the installer. If you extract the executable you can find both desired files.

No they are not, look again.

And I'm looking for these two files two, I can only get 381 version.

EDIT: Ok, found them :

It would be helpful if the OP (Tomalak) or a MOD/ADMIN could change the second part of this thread title from

"Version 7.1.6001.65"
to
"Version 7.2.6001.784"

Please.

Edit: DONE! Thank you

There's a newer version of the Windows Update Agent (WindowsUupdateAgent30-x86.exe) announced -- version 7.2.6001.788.

See KB949104 "How to obtain the latest version of the Windows Update Agent to help manage updates on a computer"

Don't bother trying to download it just yet, because Microsoft have managed to give three broken links to it.

links don't work...

That's because they are the exact same links as are listed in the KB article I posted. KB949104.

Except, that by now they are beginning to propagate. Two of them now work. The third still doesn't.

Come on Microsoft. Get you act together. When the KB article says:
QUOTE
Release Date: Thursday, October 30, 2008
that's wishful thinking, not a version of reality that's actually recognised in Europe.

.
MagicAndre1981
the links from Anderton are working. Thanks smile.gif
Nexus_06
seems they have referrer checks, and only work from the kb article.

If anybody has the x86 version could you plz upload?

Thanks Anderton, and MS links seem to finally be working

What actually needs to be included into hfslip for it to fully slipstream properly? I do not have time to test this at the moment.

Have you verified compliance with the hotfix webpage? Can you attach your hfsliplog file?
engert100
Does anyone know how to deploy this with WSUS?
Microsoft says it can't be done.
willydejoe1234
muweb_site.cab is new version (7,2,6001,788) and muauth.cab is the resulting after update the ActiveX control in the first inning on Windows Update (SoftwareDistribution folder in Windows folder)....
but even so still asking me to install activex in the first inning to windows update.
thanks
tommyp
willydejoe1234 - Please include the recommended hotfixes on the update page and report back. You got some extras there. Also, you may want to consider renaming your REG file so there is not a space in it so it would get parsed correctly. Can you get a regshot of the registry changes after you accept to install the activex? Sorry not much help otherwise.

engert100 - your question is better suited for a different forum. HFLSIP isn't a WSUS forum. smile.gif
willydejoe1234
I feel very wrong .... having effectively with the current muweb_site.cab and muauth.cab generated after update activex everything works perfect in a clean installation without change ... my error was generated by the modified files of sitem32... I apologize again......... thanks

I was just looking for the 7.2.6001.788 version for Vista w/SP1 when in my investigations found the below direct links. They can be used with vLite to add them to your image. If this has already been posted then I won't take offense to this reply getting deleted.

WUClient ActiveX - 7.2.6001.788 (x86)
WUClient Aux - 7.2.6001.788 (x86)
WUClient Core - 7.2.6001.788 (x86)

I found the links above in "%SYSTEMROOT%\WindowsUpdate.log". Hope this helps someone.

Enjoy...
