Hi guys, after integrating SP3 in XP pro I have a strange problem...
After putting the CD into the CDROM drive, it gets to the stage "press any key to boot from cdrom" but pressing the key doesnt work, it just freezes there.
Any ideas how to solve this ?
The original XP SP2 CD works just fine.

Badly burned CD?

Can you test the .iso file in a Virtual Machine?

Which app did you use to actually burn the CD?

At what drive speed did you burn the CD?

Are you using CD media (make/brand/type) that you already used successfully on the same burner?

Worked a charm thanks, but now problem with hal.dll error code 7 ?

Just checked in VMWARE and all works fine so I guess another bad CD.

Try using IMGBURN for burning the .iso:

Select LOWER available speed.

Hold your cd or dvd close to bright light and look for transparency on the disc. This usually shows signs of defective/aging media. To fix light scratches on your cd's and dvd's, clean it with toothpaste and water, gently.
