I don't understand well what the HF/NOREG folder does.

What post-sp3 files can goes there ?

Thanks
Martin H
It's an unsupported feature, and unfortunetly there's only update lists for 2k, XP-SP2 and 2K3-SP2...

More info and lists available here :

http://www.msfn.org/board/Experimenting-wi...-1-t100448.html

I'm affraid that you're out-of-luck with XP-SP3 though, unless you wan't to do some experimenting yourself...

@TC - Sorry, i know it's an unsupported feature, but could you please just kindly tell me if you're still updating the above list ? I personally would very much like to use this feature(Win2K), but am a little unsure about it, seeing as your last edit where on the 7th of august 2007...

Thank's in advance...

The HF\NOREG folder can be used for Type 1 hotfixes that don't have an INF file or of which the registry updates are not important.

For XPSP3:
NOREG\IE7-WindowsXP-KB933873-x86-ENU.exe
NOREG\IE7-WindowsXP-KB938127-x86-ENU.exe
NOREG\Windows-KB890830-V1.41.exe
NOREG\windowsmedia11-kb928788-x86-intl.exe
NOREG\windowsmedia11-kb929399-v2-x86-intl.exe
NOREG\windowsmedia11-kb929773-x86-intl.exe
NOREG\windowsmedia11-kb932390-x86-intl.exe
NOREG\windowsmedia11-kb933547-x86-intl.exe
NOREG\windowsmedia11-kb935551-x86-intl.exe
NOREG\windowsmedia11-kb935552-x86-intl.exe
NOREG\windowsmedia11-kb939209-x86-intl.exe
NOREG\WindowsMedia11-KB939683-x86-ENU.exe
NOREG\windowsmedia11-kb942264-x86-intl.exe
NOREG\windowsmedia11-kb944110-x86-intl.exe

Tomcat76 would you write on the http://users.telenet.be/tc76/winup/_winxpsp3.html page what files go in HF or HF/NOREG folder ?

It can be useful.

Thanks thumbup.gif

In the 'HF\NOREG' thread that i linked to earlier, then TC states on the very first line :
QUOTE (Tomcat76)
This is an advanced feature and no active support will be provided for it. My dynamic hotfix lists won't be updated for it either.

@TC : Could you kindly please tell me if your sentence "so everything goes in HF\NOREG except..." from the 'HF\NOREG' thread, currently still applies for Win2K ? (since your last edit where on the 7th Aug. '07)

Thank's in advance smile.gif
