Strange... I have a E-machinies Windows XP Home Edition recovery CD.

I run the latest nLite on it (1.47) and create a folder with all the data.. The OS version in nLite says Windows XP Home .

Next step,,, Integrating SP3... When this step is done I noticed that the version of XP
has changed from Home Edition to Professional...

Any ideas why this is happening? If I install using it will it be home or pro?

Thanks

Update:::

There was a s*** load of files missing from the install... Looks like Emachines do something weird to their Windows discs.... Bas Tards!

That sounds like a customised OEM disc rather than a Windows installation CD. I've never encountered anything like it with either retail or Microsoft OEM media and it may not install at all. I would suggest trying it in a virtual machine first. See what happens.

EDIT: heh, updated your post while I was away from my machine did you smile.gif
