I want to get rid of the rating thing, its p***ing me off.
Anyone know how to disable or remove them forever?

Go on the root of the folder and right clic properties > Customize and in the drop down list select 'All items'. you can also check the box 'Also apply this template to all subfolders

you can also do that to disable it completely
