I currently have:

1x Western Digital WD800JB
1x Western Digital WD1600AAJS
1x Seagate ST340211

I also used to have:

Western Digital, best grand for HDs.
Stoic Joker
Western Digital definitely my favorite, but I've also had good luck with Maxtor.
eXtremeDX
Maxtor SATAII on XP

STXXXX (don't remember) on W98SE
it doesn't hav tag sad.gif

when Quantumn FireBall failed, it made me:

shutdown windows 98
lose about 5 of my favorite music videos
all of my music
my games
my docs
my configs (along with windows tongue.gif )

i was 11 years old, couldn't do much for my lost data

Isn't Maxtor an Quantumn division?

My PC has a Maxtor (6V250F0). I can't say if this is the best brand, but IMHO it works just fine.
bonestonne
Western Digital, Seagate and Hitachi are the only drives i use.

WD 250GB, 160GB
Hitachi 40GB, 80GB
Seagate 160GB, 40GB

Laptops have IBM Travelstars in them though...no getting around it ATM.
GeneralMandible
Seagates mostly. 5 yr warranty is nice and I've had decent experiences with them. I wouldn't hesitate to buy Maxtor either, especially now that Seagate owns them.

I've owned Western Digitals (I love my Passport) als0, and can't complain. Seagate gets preference, though.
Tripredacus
At home I use Maxtor but at work I use WD.
FishBowl
Two Samsungs on the older machine, that does not like to many partitions on big IDE disks, 120 + 250 GB

Two Seagate ST 340062, taken out of Maxtor Basics Personal Storage 3200. Were cheaper than similar internal IDE drives at that time.

Several USB2 drives, including a HDD media player
gepees
I use Seagate 40 Gb...
