Dell XPS 410 - Windows Vista Home Premium

Just recently my computer has been hanging at the Welcome screen. It doesn't always happen. The only new thing I've installed is a Micro Innovations wireless keyboard and mouse. Does anyone have an idea why this may be happening all of a sudden?

What errors have you been seeing in the event log? can you provide a memory dump from when the error happend?

Is it really hanging or is just the keyboard and mouse not working? For example, if you press the power button (not holding it in) does the computer start to turn itself off? I would first try a different keyboard and mouse.

I think it was a problem with the mouse and I think I have it straightened out now. If not I'll come back. Thanks!
