Hey Guys !! I am a newbie in this forum. We have recently got shifted to new office and now looking for a good operating system for the computers. I have few options in mind, but I am confused should I go for Windows Vista or XP. Also I found a good deal for Windows Vista ultimate at eCostSoftware for £200. Please suggest should I go for it? Valuable suggestions would be highly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

What do you need these computers to do? I have found no real reason to use Ultimate unless you are planning on taking advantage of Media Center. Otherwise, Vista Business should suffice for office computers. As far as the Vista vs XP options, it depends on the specs of your computers. If you can run 2GB RAM+ with a multicore CPU, then Vista would be better, but if below these specs you could use XP. That is, of course, if you can still acquire licenses to use XP. But if you do decide to go with XP, don't bother with Home Edition, even if it is cheaper, Pro is the only one you should use in an office environment mainly because of the security options and the higher network connections limitation.

If your PC config is premium ready...definitely go for Windows Vista
