hello all, I've created my first unnatended windows vista dvd. it's size is 4.3Gb and i created it step by step:
1)integrate the updates before sp1
2)inegrate sp1
3)integrate all updates after sp1
4)make it unnatended

i then created an image of it with vlite and burned that on a dvd-rw, I boot up from it but after accepting the license agreetment i need to select the drive/partition where i want to install vista to and then i get this error 0x80300001. I googled it but i didn't find anything that really could solve this problem, so i decided to make a topic about it. i also found another topic here on this forum with same problem and he solved it by formatting his drive tried that but didn't help...

andy ideas ?

things i've tried:
-delete all partitions and make one big one (drive c:)
-run chkdsk /r on startup
-made a new partiton fully formatted, again chkdsk/r
-today(august 15'th) i did a format of my hd, didn't help either. it keeps asking for a driver, on gathering tweakers there is a topic wich is going about the same problem and he solved it by slipstreaming his ichr driver to a floppy. then on the vista setup he said to look after drivers in the floppy and that solved the problem. i Never heard of ichr drivers, i also googled it but didnt found anything usefull.

today is an other day, i again started googling my problem but i think it's all going about the sata driver, so maybe deleted something that i shouldn't so i will post my xml file.

I have got the exact same problem... Did you resolve this in the end?

My Vista + SP1 is able to install without problems. However, once I integrate all the other updates after SP1, but then I get the 0x8030001 error.
I'm starting to think it's because of my install.wim being larger than 4GB, but I'm not sure about that.

Would it work if I would split my install.wim into multiple files?
Any help on this?

I done a plain jane sp1 -updates but I didn't integrate sp1 either and booted into vista and then went and got list of what WU said I needed for updates. Rebuilt and once again booted in and needed 7 more updates so added them. Now I'm fine and I didn't d/l 300mb + of updates I didn't need.

42 files at 194mb even with some of the Ultimate extras. Perhaps its one of the updates causing problems.
Another thing is I removed all extra images leaving only ultimate and gained about 410mb space.
But I also added over 700mb of applications leaving me at 4.190
