Hi,

I had a virus which is now removed from my computer. The virus made my screensaver and desktop tabs disappear from my display properties window. I don't have the recovery disk at my current location and won't be able to get it for several months. My computer however is working fine except for not having the two tabs aforementioned.

Is there a website that basically behaves like a screensaver where most of the internet window except for the boundary perhaps has some kind of screensaver running on it? I would like to go this site to save my screen whenever I know I won't be using the computer for 30 minutes or longer. I have tried going into the standby mode to save my screen but I would rather have a different solution.

Thanks for your help.

Viruses sometimes mess with group policy settings. Try opening the registry editor and navigating your way to

HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Current Version\Policies

And see if there's anything odd looking there.

Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware is a new Favorite in my book. The free edition should take care of your ailments:

(Vundo and/or SmitFraud infections are the most common of what you described.)
