Hi,
I am running Server 2003. I want to upgrade to Server 2003 R2.
From what I have read I need to:
1. Backup Server
2. Upgrade the AD Schema to 31
3. Run Upgrade to R2
Some of the documents I have read say to do the above steps, but others say to ensure you have AD running on a second server (which we do) and uninstall AD from the server before doing the upgrade and then reinstalling AD.
Just wondering what peoples thoughts were.
Thanks
Stephen

we were running windows 2003 enterprise when we upgraded to R2. There was nothing to do other than to pop in the R2 cd which just adds all the extra features.
never had to worry about upgrading any schema??!?!
and when we install on a brand new box (file server we pop the r2 cd after the install and that's all.

Yep - that was what I did - just pop in the R2 CD. I use Enterprise Server (even for my home server)
