Hello,

vlite is integrating SP1 into vista as I type this, and it is taking several hours!! lol

My question:

My laptop is a Dell so it contains some Dell stuff in the $OEM$ folder. Am I safe to delete this after I intregrate SP1 (I don't wanna have to wait for it to integrate again!).

AND, do I just delete the whole $OEM$ folder? What about the PID.TXT file?

keep the PID.txt and the OEM certificate. With this files Vista automatically activates itself on your OEM Hardware.

i have a copy of dvd vista by DELL.
i want to remove this OEM by DELL.
i just delete $OEM$ folder.
but how about PID.txt and PIDGENX.DLL, do i have to remove this also?
because i already have a serial number to integrate.

The OEM folder contains all the Dell information so it can install and activate your Dell copy as legit, pluswork w/ the Dell bios and hardware.. The pid as you know is the Dell OEM install #. It won't hurt to delete it.
