Hi

Test case steps:

- Copy deploy cabinet files from \win xp with sp2\SUPPORT\TOOLS\Deploy.zip/cab

- Extract on some shared folder
- Got Setup manager utility with this deploy cabinate file
- Ran setup manger utility for sysprep.inf answer file to automate mini-setup after installation for setting up

- Creating new answer file
- Type of the setup
- Unattended setup Winbom.ini
- Sysprep setup sysprep.inf
- RIS remote installation service
- Type of product wins xp pro
- License agreement fully automate or partially

Setup manager

Username and organization
Display setting
Time zone
Product key --Provide product key from Right clik on My Computer shortcut(i.e. System Properties dialog box.)

- Made one sysprep.inf file and put it into sysprep folder of particular os which you would like to automate.
- Ran command sysprep.exe –reseal
- Reboot machine, see the effect,

Result: Product key is not taken, It again ask product key.

Any help would appreciate.

product key issues with XP are usually related to the KEY type and media type, ie: a VLK key will only work with VLK *volume license key* media, and a retail key with retail media, same goes for OEM or MSDN media

so what type of key are you using (is it one from the side of the pc, if it is it's OEM) and what type of CD did you use for the xp image ?
