I am in the process of updating my SATA driver collection. I have created a rudementary TXTSETUP.OEM parser, and generated a "clean" TXTSETUP.OEM for XP only for each of the drivers I have in my current collection.

If you have any CERTIFIED drivers, with a .CAT, .SYS, .INF and TXTSETUP.OEM files, please email them to me at the address in my signature.

Attached is my current colection of generated TXTSETUP.OEM files, sorted into directories by Driver File name, and then by Driver Version.

Your help is most appreciated!
GreenMachine
C'mon, you cheapskates. Not one measly driver? Don't make me go on stike ...
Alanoll
so you want to go on stike do ya?

well when I get home later, I'll compare file versions with what I have, and send you any that are newer and certified.
GreenMachine
Now we're getting somewhere!

I'm interested in ANY versoin that I don't have, regardless of whether I have a newer version. Surpisingly, there are quite a few differences in the different versions, as far as PnPIDs supportes, actual hardware names, etc. For example, both the FASTRAK and the ULTRA drivers can be used on the same hardware ... sometimes. Then there are FASTRAK versions that only support some PnPIDs, and other versions that support other hardware.

In short, a big mess. I wrote a small tool to help me clean up the files, parse out the relevent info, and do the majority creation of a new, P only TXTSETUP.OEM.

So, please, SEND ME YOUR DRIVERS, ONE AND ALL!

Thanks, Alanoll!

(I'm nasy when on stike, be carful!)

you have of course gotten a copy of RyanVM's lated build of drivers from 5/20? Always a good place to start.
GreenMachine
I have a copy, but I would like each driver in it's virgin format ... I check out each one, and add it to my collection. His collection is missing the TXTSETUP.OEM files, the main file I need. I also do have at least one version of most of the certified drivers he has.
DerRickster
what about SCSI Drivers?
GreenMachine
So ... this is going to be a Little Red Hen kind of deal? "Who will help me eat my bread" ...

I would appreciate a hand here ... you have been warned!
RyanVM
I can definitely attest to the fact that many drivers for the same products DON'T always work. I've seen numerous cases with various Highpoint/Silicon Image controllers where older drivers work fine and newer ones cause BSODs.

I at one point of time was quite the expert at intergrating "Mass Storage Drivers" in Windows NT 4.0 having created my own custom PXE build system for DOS/OS2/WindowsNT-2K. The main problem that I bumped into and am quite cetain is still the chalenge is the Driver Version of the specfic card has to match up with the Firmware version of the card. Dell Perc Raid controllers are very famous for this. Once you get past that point (by stating this Driver needs this Firmware version) it is not hard to automate untill you bump into the infamous file name conflict. Which can be overcome, but requires hacking and then you off in a quagmire.

Hope my ramblings help...

Alanoll
sorry for not sending mine....
I only use two, and they're the UltraATA Promise Drivers, and teh VIA RAID .220 drivers.

BOth of which I believe you already have. sad.gif
GreenMachine
Send 'em anyway. The point is the difference in versions, so I'm internested in as many as possible. If it is a double, I'll just toss it ...

There are still a bunch from RyanVM's list that I don't have a copy of.

If you have some of these, with the txtsetup.oem, .sys, .inf and .cat files, don't be bashfull.

In fact, I've only recieved two drivers ...

So, in the meantime, ...

I Think you already have this? If you don't have and you want me to send them, just tell me where to send to send them and I will.

Cheers, Burnee.

Thanks to all those that contributed. I'll leave the collection as is, until new additions are requested.

Can you use these 3ware 7000/8000 that 3ware says is WHQL?

I cannot get any XP cd to see my 8006-2LP RAID controller without a floppy. I have tried several ways now. sad.gif

Hi there, I have a disc that came with my Abit motherboard I have put it in my floppy drive and then Explore but I cannot find the version numbers, on the disc are .\silicon\3112\ for windows 2000 and xp, .\silicon\3114\ for windows 2000 and xp, .\intel\ for windows 2000 and xp and finally .\via\ for windows 2000 and xp.

If they are any good I will be glad to send them, I didn't want to send you something you already have, if you could explain how I can tell the version I will check then send them if they are any good.

Don't know if you remember me you helped me integrate my sata drivers, I'm the chap who didn't have a clue.

Any way hope you are keeping well.

Kind regards

Hmmm...I just sent you my drivers then realized that the majority of this conversation happened in May. Hope you still need them!
kimandsally
Hi bought a mother baoed today which has the via sata drivers I have looked at your list and it looks like these are not on it.

Kind regards

Andrew. smile.gif

I don't think it matters the majority of this conversation took place in may, if GM doesn't need them he won't pick'm up here. So, here are my drivers. They're from an ATA RAID chipset on a Gigabyte MoBo: Promis Fastrak Ultra MB133 Lite.

This chipset is for RAID or IDE only, no SATA. Since the driver is about two years old now, I suppose there will be an updated version somewhere. However, this is the one I use.

The 64-bit NVRAID drivers FINALLY work properly as of the mid-late november version (6.25). They are not certified yet however.

What needs to go on the floppy is everything in the IDE\WinXP directory from the nForce unified driver setup archive except the raidtool directory under that.
GreenMachine
I've put adding new drivers on hold for the moment, but thanks all for your contributions.
