i would like to be able to turn my pc on from work. i have the software utility to do it, but im having problems with hardware.

i have a motherboard with an integrated nic. i went into the bios to enable wol, but there is a setting for this. there is a setting for pxe, which isn't the same thing and doesn't work. there is a setting for pme, but i can't find any documentation on what that is or what is means.

so, i was assuming the nic doesn't support wol. i was going to install a pci nic. well, the wol connector on my motherboard isn't there. i see the place where it should be, cause it's marked, its just the the pins aren't there!! realmad.gif

so, what can i do to get this working?

thanks!

I've been searching for this too, but I too couldn't figure it out...

I'd also like to know if someone can tell us...

LOL

Motherboards are made in bulk, and as such, the components can differ very slightly between models. However the bios can be the same across various models.

So i would assume the pc doesn't acually support WOL.

Why not leave the power on?
