This is wierd, I am running windows 2000sp4, and i installed a Promis ultra100 TX2 on o ne pci slot, in windows i installed the "1_Ultra 133_100 tx2 driver_b42" driver.
I have one nec 2500 connected to ide 1 as master
and i have 1 160gb samsung connected as cable select on ide 2

when i moved a 700mb file from my C: (mobo's pri master , alone) to the samsung drive the CPU indicated by the taskmanager went up to some 50-80 % during the copying.

thats high! when i copyed the same file from C: to C: it only went up to like 20- 40 at most.

when i tried burning a DVD with nero the CPU went up to 100% and the whole computer started lagging like hell, i couldnt play winamp or even move the mouse cursor properly.

So, i updated the Promis ultra100 TX2 Bios from version 220014 to 220015
without any change in performance.

Do any of you readers know why its clogging up all of the system?
