Is there a way to edit a computer's registry in BartPE? I'm trying to fix a friend machine who had a spyware removal go bad, but regedit only brings up the registry for BartPE. Is there a way I can edit his registry from there?

heh, he solved this thing by now, BTW.
Winternals' ERD Commander 2003 is a WinPE environment which allows you to log-in to the machine's own registry. So from there, you can edit that machine's registry.

Ryan dude, getting forgetful..... :kidding:

Actually, you can edit the registry without using ERD.. At least, I have no problem doing so with WinPE.

All you need to do is run regedit, and then select HKLM. You can then go to file and load hive. Browse to C:\Windows\System32\Config\. You'll see files named System, Software, etc. Select the one you wanna modify and call it whatever you want (like Local_Software). Then modify the hive you've loaded, be sure to unload it and you're done.

i highly recommend getting avast! bart v2. Among the new tools are a system junk file cleaner and a registry cleaner w/ the option of selectable search param's.
Remember the trial itself will expire oct 15! The tools however....are timeless....
