Sorry for asking this dumb question. Will more ram help get better fps on games like counter strike; source, half life 2? right now i have 512mb of ram.

this should be in the hardware forum... but you should get 2x512 that has tight timings. run them in dual channel

Get dual channel 2x1gb PC3200 if you can afford it, lol you'll be glad you did

I don't know if you can get 2x1gb dual channel any higher than PC3200

i have that and im currently overclocking it with my cpu. im at 270x10 1:1 and its pretty stable so far. i might have to up the dram to 2.7 to make it rly stable tho, but im still testing

make sure to do some research on your mainboard to make sure your mainboard can handle the memory amount the type of memory and the speed.

question....can you run pc4000 memory on a board that only goes upto pc3200?

as i cant find a pc3200 kit of 2x 1gb...as i wanna go for 2gig.
