i maked a cab in cmd i copied the both files in the I386 directory.
Sphinx-cn
you have to use modifype before you make the cabfile, or else the install will see that the file is "corrupt"

I never used modifyPE on my winntbbu.dll , and it works fine.

I just dont compress mine, my XP CD dosnt require it to be cab compressed

I always delete the compressed one.
muiz
i delete the uncompressed one since there is no compressed one in my original cd
and i place my own compressed one.

Can you do me a favor muiz.
After you delete the uncompressed one can you try the upgrade install from within XP and tell me if uses the moded WINNTBBU.DLL as a background.
I believe the uncompressed WINNTBBU.DLL is used for the upgrade setup screen.
muiz
Sorry i cant , i always remove the upgrade stuff
