When i for instance download a file. In most programs the "filebrowsing" possibility is not there. The popup-windows comes and it says "Choose a file" (or something like that) and instead of the tree of directories below, it's just gray...
And the times it do appear, the "make new folder"-button just doesn't work.

It's quite annoying - anybody heard about this before? Maybe there is a patch for it somewhere?

That's interesting. While I was running 64-bit XP I never came across this situation. Here's what I'd suggest you to do: scan your pc for viruses / malware and come back with the results. Good luck disinfecting!

The E#.png-logs is a copy of how it looks for me this problem. The first one (E1)is from the program Mozilla Firefox. I'm trying here to browse for the standard download folder to be changed. No luck here. And to just put the path in the Line-edit space is not a solution either.
The E2 shows how it looks when i just go "Open file" from the menus. And this is Nero Burning Rom. Even here, when it works - i experience problems when i try to click the "make new folder"-icon in the top. Nothing happens then.

Concerning the N#-files, it's some scan logs from NOD32-antivirus (1 & 2) - it was run in safemode so therefore the whole log didn't fit to the screen at once, hence the truncation. I'm wondering a little about the failure to scan the system memory in the beginning and also the falure to open "locked" files. Any thoughts on this?

The first time i ran Ad-aware it found 6 tracking cookies, and also the first time a ran the Bazooka - it found SystemDir.regedit and SystemDir.explorer. This means it was a possible Worm in the system. I renamed these files (in the c:\windows\SysWOW64\) and then the bazooka didn't find anything wrong.
The virus-scanner didn't alert me on these renamed files either.

And yes, my mothertounge is swedish - so my english might sound a little strange sometimes - but i think you figure out what i mean

And - the problem also is the same in safe mode. Checked that out while i was running it...

How to go on now from this point? Any ideas?

I looked at the printscreens and I'm concerned about the system memory giving an error while being scanned. It says the kernel module is (probably) faulty (couldn't see it in the picture) so I assume there's something wrong with your windows installation. Has it worked before? When did it start to give errors? What have you installed after running normally and errors starting up? Is your copy of windows legit? Have you slimmed it with nlite?

It's a new computer and a fresh install. It has behaved like this all time. But the install might be a slimmed one (its just one CD).

What do you think my chances are to get a fully working system if i get another (full) copy and install over the one I have now?
Or is there other ways of repairing the faulty system?
