hi! i'm unsure if this is related to the recent forum maintenance ... however, i'd just like to share that i've been getting this quite frequently:

Sorry, an error occurred. If you are unsure on how to use a feature, or don't know why you got this error message, try looking through the help files for more information.

The error returned was:
Authorization mismatch - please go back and try again. If you have been trying to access a function incorrectly, please use the proper method.

The following post data has been saved. In some cases, using your browser's back button will empty out form fields which results in the loss of any typed and unsaved material. You may select all of the text area below and copy before hitting back.
... would this have anything to do with idle time? thanks! newwink.gif

Opera 9.02 here.

Don't know if these are by design, but I'll mention them anyway...

1) The regular smiling smiley doesn't appear on the first selection; are they ordered by use?

2) When clicking a smiley, it gets added into the post but it's highlighted, meaning that if I continue to type the smiley is erased again

3) I can't download attachments when I'm not logged in

Just go on any forum and find a topic with the small paper clip left to its name. Click on it : list is empty.

This is still not working here. It might be the OS. Both computers I tried this on are running Windows XP w/SP2, ff version 2.0.0.1. Maybe something broke in ff 2.0.0.1?

the_guy

EDIT: I just tried this in FF2.0 and it works. Looks like Mozilla broke something in 2.0.0.1.

Someone couldn't log in or get to any of MSFN's pages other than the main page starting early yesterday and they are guessing it is when you were installing the new version. Anyway, they created a new account and found this thread. So they went and tried to log into their old account after clearing their cache and managed to get into the forum with no problems. So if you see a new an acount with the username of 'newname', you can delete him because he is a retard. But I don't know him personally.

Hmmm. I talked to the retard again and he still has the problem of logging in from the main page, regardless of whether he has cleared his cache or not. When he does try to log in, he gets the message:
QUOTE
The username you have entered is incorrect
But if he navigates through his history to a page in the forums and then tries to log in, he has no problems.
So, what I wrote earlier is not correct. If it is a problem with the new Forum update, I am informing you of a bug. If it is something the id*** is doing incorrectly, please explain it to me in simple terms so that I can relay the message.

Thank you,
DL

P.S.-I like the new update.

Three words: do not want.

See image.

That may happen when not all page objects were loaded. It just happened to me minutes ago, but it got fixed by itself seconds later, while the browser's statusbar showed there were a few more objects to load (smileys, etc). I'm using SlimBrowser as front-end to IE6 SP1 on Win98SE.

Remember to post what browser are you using. Also prior to posting your problem, clear you cache and restart your browser.

Confirmed for Opera. It looks like Opera is not being fed that part at all. Just look at the source code. Why is Opera being sent stripped down code?

IE 6 SP1. Yes, restarting the browser and clearing the cache was one of the first things I did.

Now it crashes (Internet Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close, etc. etc.) whenever I let the reply page load completely. I have to press Stop button immediately after this reply box loads to be able to post anything at all.

My automatic login isn't working anymore since you bundled that useless google search popup.

I've encountered the same thing with attchments in some topics started by Dels and Delprat.

When not logged in, embedded attachments don't show properly unless hotlinked from another post.

I uploaded a round graphic with an arrow in it as an attachment in the main post of this thread and it's showing within the post if you're logged in. However, it shows up as a square with a Quicktime logo in it when not logged in and the text winval.png ( 558bytes ) is shown beside it.

Strangely, it does show properly when not logged in in the main post of this thread. The difference here is that I'm hotlinking to the graphic that I uploaded in the other post.

Tested with Opera 9.02, Gran Paradiso 3.0 and IE6 SP1.

It seems the PM I send are not saved anymore so I can't read them again once they've been sent.
I feel like there's an option but,

OK, I think I found the issue: something in the log-in page has definitely changed. I suspect the autologin was erroneously "clicking" the Search button in the Google ad instead of the Login button in the log-in form.
I had to extract the log-in form again and manually set the focus on a different page object, so the data would be extracted correctly. So, my bad - there's no popup, it was just a page reconfiguration that screwed up the auto-login form. Glad to have fixed it.

Try using the standard editor instead. You can change it in your preferences. I like the standard one better than the rich text.
