Got my gateway lcd in thumbup.gif

Its got USB ports on the side and my thumbdrive gets very hot, very fast unsure.gif

It doesnt do this on the computers ports.

Anyone know why?
LLXX
I suggest you stop using those ports, for they are overvolting your drive.
FabulousFred
Is this odd? As in give gateway a call?

New LCD with the same problem. realmad.gif Its not the thumbdrive.

Could the USB cable from the hub to the PC be the problem?
puntoMX
The cable is just a standard cable, I donīt see why it could be the cable. It should give 5Volts on pin 1, -D (data), +D (data) and the last pin 0Volts. You could check it with a voltage-meter on the pin-contacts.

Are you sure this doesn't happen with any other thumb drives? I know my OCZ Rally gets warm when it's plugged in, but it does this on all computers.

It shouldn't be burning hot, but warm is fine.
