Hey guys,
I'm having a bit of a problem. I have my computer in S3 power-saving state (just changed it 15 mins. ago) and my CPU fan won't turn off. No matter what I read, S1 keeps the fan going and S3 turns it off. Even is S3, my CPU fan remains fully spinning. I first encountered the problem when I (unknowingly) had a bad stick of RAM, and I let someone fix it. They updated the BIOS and changed the fan. I am currently at a loss.
Specs:
Intel D845HV motherboard
Intel P4 1.5Ghz processor
640 MB RAM
nVidia Geforce 4000 video card
Windows XP Pro SP2
Does anyone know how to fix this?

My first check would be for 3 wires on the fan, second (if you have 3 wires) check to be sure they are plugged into the cpu fan header on the motherboard and not some other header.

I don't find that a problem, maybe the CPU is still hot?

I'll check the CPU fan plug today to see if it's plugged into the correct spot, and yes, it is a three-plug fan.
If that doesn't work, I'll be checking the temperature of the CPU.

I just checked, and the fan is plugged in to the correct location.
