Hello all,

I've never encountered this problem with NLite until now. I've created an ISO image and burnt it into my CD, and the first phase of setup goes well. (The blue screen text mode) When it boots into the GUI setup mode, it fails and restarts the computer itself. The second time it displays an error message, I couldn't read it because it keeps restarting itself. So what am I doing wrong?

By the way, I'm using the latest RC version of NLite.

A solution here is needed here.

Thanks.

Strange! I have (almost?) the same problem! However I first have a problem during the integration of the default Windows theme (while rendering with nLite)

In which language is your copy fo Windows? Mine is not English, but French...

Here's a message I wrote a month ago:
(...) I've just tested the last version of nLite (1.3 RC2 in french) and I have this problem (which I didn't have before with older versions of nLite) :
1) when launching the integration of hotfixes, packs and themes, I get this error message "error while reading theme: Style Windows XP".

"Style Windows XP" is the default style used in Windows :-/
I'm using Windows XP Pro (integrating SP2) in french. I've tried starting the whole process again and again...

2) during installation of Windows with this new generated CD, it goes in boot loops after copying the files on the hard drive (so, after the blue screen)... (...)

I'm using the english version of Windows XP. I've rolled back to the last stable version of NLite and its still happening. Don't know where I did wrong, and its annoying.

Very strange, indeed...

Post your nLite *.ini file here so that I can check with mine
Thunderbolt 2864
Is this the one your talking about:

Last Session.ini file? If so, here is the link:

mmm

Try this way :
Keep "Manual Install and Upgrade" in components

D:\Nlite Addons\ie7.cab
D:\John's Programs\IE7-KB928090-WindowsXP-x86-enu.exe
-> The second one isn't enough? Using these both files together seems dangerous. Though I wonder if IE7 integration is not my problem...

Try first without these both IE files integration...
If it doesn't work try without any hotfixes at all (esp. without all your non-hotfixes like CloneDVD, Adobe Reader, etc)...

Don't you have any error message while rendering with nLite?
Thunderbolt 2864
No, I did not have encounter any error message when I slipstreamed all the updates. I'll try again, and give you my update.

Still have any problems with the final version of nLite (1.3.0.4) ?
Mines are fixed with this new version smile.gif

Hi !

I have the same problem
I'm using Win XP Home SP2 - French
Nlite 1.3.0.4 Final

I tried to only put hotfixes from MS (on march 29th 2007), and NOTHING else. crazy.gif
Here is the list of the 108 updates I used :

And at the first reboot... virtual PC reboots, and reboots,... realmad.gif
So i used "print screen" to have this **** error, just before reboot !
The error, in french:
The english translation would be :
the quota of virtual memory or file of exchange is insufficient to finish the specified operation

I really don't know what's wrong. whistling.gif
I didn't even try "funny" stuffs ! unsure.gif

I'm gonna keep on searching, but any help, idea, or advice would be welcome !
Dr_Z
Hoora !
Found the solution !

there were 3 updates which where displayed as .CAB in Nlite.
I took them off
It works !

I hope this could help some of you welcome.gif

hi guys

I faced the same problem before because I was install IE7 Hotfixes without integrate IE7
so you should integrate IE7 first and then install its hotfixes

and i was use nLite
Dr_Z
Well...
IE7 seems to be the one.
When i try to bring it back, install fails (reboot)
I tried to put IE7 "earlier" in my hotfixes (end of oct 2006, when it was launched...), but it's all the same.

Any idea ?? confused.gif

use nLite 1.3 final its works well. just go to the hotfixes screen and insert your updates first and then put the IE7 and then put the hotfixes for the IE7 in order
Dr_Z
I AM using the last Nlite (1.3.0.4 final)
Maybe i made a mistake in the order of IE7 updates...
How can I know which KB.exe files they are ??

when you download an IE7 update from microsoft its name will be like this "IE7-KB928090-WindowsXP-x86-enu.exe"
Dr_Z
I only use IE7-WindowsXP-x86-fra.exe
No other IE7*.exe files

Strange...
Very strange...

Here are the updates I included :

As I said, only 1 IE7*.exe...
NaDer_GenKO
really You have an updates for IE7 but I don't know why its names not as my Updates PROBABLY because you are downloading the french Language

that is the updates you have for IE7 as I know:
WindowsXP-KB928090-x86-fra.exe
WindowsXP-KB929969-x86-fra.exe

sorry for the mistake. and if you want to know what updates for IE7 just run It on IE6 installed will give you error and the setup not complete
Dr_Z
I try this tommorow morning, and i'll let you know...
Thanks already ! welcome.gif
Dr_Z
So...
moving these 2 updates did not work

I did a "normal install" of XP, and then watched WU work.
I've put the hotfixes in the same order as win took them on the internet, and now it works.
I still don't know which hotfix made it fail, but now it's ok.

Many thanks ! thumbup.gif

That shall never occur. Because nLite don't touch the virtual memory or any quota settings, AFAIK.

Just to share, I have had no problems with nlite until recently. And after troubleshooting I found out that its the SATA/RAID drivers. Without integrating them everything else works as a charm.

I have done it so many times before and no problems. Is it a bug with the latest nlite version? (nLite 1.3 Final) Or is the latest nForce2 system drivers by Nvidia?

Anyone else have this problem?
Dr_Z
well...
Let's just say it is a bug ! blink.gif

It tried to make a homemade windows a few time ago.
It kept asking for windows CD frequently.
For example, everytime I was inserting a flash USB pen drive...
This means : very often !
Never found why...
I stopped using nLite after that.

My new experience is also quite strange, don't you think so ? whistling.gif

Maybe there is a job as a debugger for me ! lol

Here, the problem is in the hotfixes page.
Even before trying to insert any driver.
I think you don't post in the good topic...

And... as an answer, i didn't face this problem, sorry
